CHICAGO, IL – June 2, 2014. Elissa Densborn, Director of Enterprise Risk Management for MPI Corporation, has been named as a Youn Impact Scholar by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Ms. Densborn, a 2014 MBA candidate, is one of only five students so honored.
The Youn Impact Scholars program is designed to recognize and support Kellogg students and alumni in their efforts to influence public policy and leverage private sector resources to accomplish positive social change. Ms. Densborn was recognized primarily for her work as an adviser to Byoearth, a Guatemalan, woman-owned enterprise that develops vermicomposting systems useful to sustain the most vulnerable elements of the Guatemalan population and the environment it inhabits.
Ms. Densborn, who has concentrated her graduate education in Entrepreneurship, Management, Strategy and Marketing is expected to earn her master’s degree with honors in June. She graduated with high distinction from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 2007 with majors in Accounting and Finance and is a Certified Public Accountant. During her undergraduate years, she had several public sector internships, most notably with the National Economic Council at the White House. In 2011, Ms. Densborn joined MPI Corporation after a stint in the Chicago office of the international accounting firm, PwC.
