Assembly Department Leader

The Assembly Leader will lead, manage and coordinate the Assembly Department across all three shifts, with responsibility for company-defined performance metrics. The Assembly Leader will reside in the Assembly Department and report directly to the Assembly Manager.  The Assembly Leader will be responsible for managing production personnel within assembly.  The Assembly Leader will also provide support to cell leads.




  • Track productivity of employees within the department
  • Manage production cells and utility operators
  • Perform disciplinary actions and performance reviews of production personnel
  • Understand the interactions between raw goods, tooling, and production equipment and troubleshoot to correct those opportunities
  • Train and develop employees
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete basic set-ups/changeovers of manual assembly processes (i.e. detents, tapping operations, etc.)
  • Control proper procedures for inventory transactions of raw materials and products produced
  • Facilitate necessary meetings to cover safety, procedural changes, general plant communication, etc.
  • Assist in disseminating changes, updates, and information regarding process or procedural changes in Production, ISO, the Quality System, and Safety System
  • Assist finance, quoting, and engineering as necessary
  • Support and uphold the employee handbook
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring for departmental transfers, job bids, and new hires as required
  • Provide support to cell leads as required




  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-8 years’ experience in manufacturing, assembly and supervision preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of customers or employees
  • Ability to fluently read, speak, write and understand the English language
  • Syteline ERP experience is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and using Windows
