Installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment by reviewing charts for trends, erratic readings, smells and listening for unusual sounds
  • Dismantles defective machines and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates bearings, gears, shafts and other parts of machinery
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring and the electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  • Installs and maintains pipe systems hydraulic, air, gas, etc. and if necessary repairs or replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
  • Fabricates or makes repairs by using cutting torches or welding equipment
  • Operates powered industrial trucks (forklifts), scissor lift and boom lift
  • Works weekends and off shift


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
  • Proven knowledge of electrical, fabrication
  • General safety, lock-out/tag-out, HAZMAT, forklift and Scissor Aerial lift
  • High School diploma, GED or Tech school education, and at least 6 months of work related experience
